Mariner and Seafarer Testing (MAST) Examination Platform
The Commonwealth of Dominica Maritime Administration’s (the “Administration”) MAST examination platform reflects the provisions of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping, 1978, as amended (STCW).
The electronic, multiple-choice examinations differ for each capacity and adhere to the competency being tested. All applications for a Certificate of Competency or a Special Qualification Certificate must be submitted in accordance with the provisions of the publication CDP-300 Merchant Marine Personnel Certification Requirements, and will be reviewed for a fee to determine eligibility for licensing by examination.
Step 1: Application
To obtain a Commonwealth of Dominica original license via the MAST examination platform please submit a completed application HERE.
Step 2: Examination
Once the applicant has been deemed eligible and the examination fees have been paid, the Administration will issue an enrollment key and a list of our approved regional examination centers to choose from and conveniently schedule a date and time for testing.
The enrollment key, issued by the Administration, will be used to access the exam with the proctor’s assistance.
Step 3: Approval
Once the exam has been successfully completed, licensing payment can be made, and the Administration will issue a Commonwealth of Dominica Certificate of Competency and a Seafarer ID book both valid for a term of five (5) years.
